Stump Me Too!

Stump the writer... as filched from [livejournal.com profile] the_con_cept

[1] Go to my list of fics and pick out a line or three from one of my stories. (could we make it one long line, or two?)
[2] I will respond with which story of mine I think it's from. I SWEAR I WON'T CHEAT. (honest! It's no fun otherwise!)
[3] A drabble of choice for the first three of you that manage to stump me ;). (let's just hope that regularly re-reading my fic helps me out here).

I'll do the guessworkreplies tomorrow night, as I need to be in bed now :)

Granger's arms were flung around the still body of Potter's Weasley friend, who was dragged between her and another one of the same brood. Granger was sobbing and shaking like under the aftershock of Cruciatus. Weasley's lips were blue, his skin unnaturally white except for a violent red bruise around his neck.

Whee! I have a list of all fics I wrote, and you should've seen me tearing through possibilities... wrong tense, wrong pov, wrong pairing, doesn't feel right... it narrows things down, but the sex scene bits give me trouble as heck. Am still hair-tearing over the last one. But it's really fun ;).

Actually, I picked out a couple of lines. :) (Two different stories.)

It has happened before once or twice, although I have achieved a reputation for both discretion and for dealing very sharply with that kind of treatment.

He realised immediately that it hadn't been the most prudent thing to say. A flicker ran through the hateful grey eyes, like a sliver of lightning through a sea of storm clouds.

I'm almost certain the first one is 'Somewhat Lighter Sympathy'.

The second is trickier... I guess I can leave out all the smut, but even then it could still be 'Rodents', or 'Art of War', or 'Pathway to Perdition' or 'Recalcitrance'... Um, 'Pathway' was present tense, I think. And 'Rodents' before you knew me. Have to go with 'Art of War', because it's the only one left that's a bit better known, but it's just a guess. And if you've strayed into NC-17 territory, I'm stumped anyway :).
